Thanks for watching FAB Decor. You can view this entire video series on eHow. Enjoy the video below or read on for an abridged version of the video’s transcript:

Hi, I’m Kimberly Seeherman, celebrity wedding planner and owner of Events by Fabulous. Today we’re going to be talking about wedding invitations, specifically wording for a costume wedding.

The most general and easy way to ask your guests to dress up is to say “festive attire welcome.” That allows people to know that you want them to dress in a style that is appropriate for the theme of the wedding.

If you want to be more encouraging, you might say, “costumes requested,” or, “themed attire requested.” Or you could be a little bit more creative with your wording and choose words that are inspired by the theme of your wedding.

For example, in the video you will see a great sample invitation here for a Great Gatsby themed wedding. Note we have written for attire, “Vintage Great.” That’s a wonderful way to let people know how they should be dressing, and it makes it more fun.

Thanks For Watching!
