Hi, I’m Kimberly Seeherman, event design expert and owner of Events By Fabulous. Today, we’re going to talk about how to decorate for an anniversary. I have a little treat for you today – a wonderful decoration that’s also quite functional, and a great guest activity for any anniversary party! It’s called a wishing tree.

It’s really simply a branch and a box. You’re going to screw those together, and then spray paint any color that works for your anniversary party theme. Now, the next step is really just having pens and these great little tags available so all of your friends and family can write their wishes for you and your spouse on this wonderful display of your love.

What we’re going to do here is two things: First, we’re going to prepare the pens so that people can easily access those pens. What I’ve chosen to do here is just use a matching silver bow. I’m just tying a really cute little bow around the tree trunk. Now, I’m going to clip on those Sharpie pens right to the bow. What’s great about this is that now people can actually access the pen without taking off the cap. Then, they’ll have a place to click it right back into for easy storage.

Next, you want to have a great little place for all of the tags to be stored. So, what I’ve done here is just put in a matching vessel, a little silver container here while holding that in place and filling this base with beautiful silver rocks. Now, I’m just going to take these really simple manila shipping labels and just sort them and put them right here in the vessel so that people can easily access them to write their wishes. You can pick up these cute little manila tags at any office supply store, and it’s just so whimsical, and a wonderful addition to any anniversary party. Enjoy!
